My Speech at the Constitution Rally, Sept. 12, 2009

Hello, thank you all for coming out. My name is Charles Parker, I am an evangelical fundamentalist conservative Christian, black American, NOT African American, because Barack Obama has given a whole new meaning to African American. I am here to talk about why conservatives vote progressive. For those of you who do not understand what a progressive is, it is a liberal. Liberals have gained a bad reputation and nobody wants to be called a liberal. So, what do you do when you have a bad reputation? You have to change your name, so liberals call themselves progressive.

First time I ever voted for a Presidential candidate, my choice was between Jimmy Carter, and Ronald Reagan. I was born in Perry, Florida, I remember seeing Jimmy Carter commercials when he ran for Governor of Georgia when I was a little kid. . I didn't know anything about Politics and I didn't care anything about Politics. I figured I'd vote for Jimmy Carter because my father always told me that the Republicans ain't never done nothing for a black man. One day I was looking something up in the World Book Encyclopedia, ( that was before the Internet.). I was looking up Abraham Lincoln for some reason and it had a typographical error in it- it said that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican .That couldn't be! Because I have always been taught that Republicans were for the white man, and the rich, and the Democrats were for the poor man and the blacks. So knowing that fact, I had to do some homework. I found a pamphlet on what Jimmy Carter, and Ronald Reagan believed. It asked questions such as Do you believe Children should be allowed to Pray in School, yes or no? It also asked questions about guns, homosexuals , abortion , And on and on and on. I overwhelmingly agreed with what Ronald Reagan said, not Jimmy Carter. So, being a conservative most every black person I knew thought the same way I did. And they were going to vote for Jimmy Carter, but now I was voting for Ronald Reagan, because he believed the way I believed. So my friends wanted to know how could I vote for Ronald Reagan, he was a Republican! Republicans are for the rich! I told them he believes the way I believe. So I asked my friends the questions on the pamphlet, and they answered the SAME way I did! They still couldn't bring themselves to vote Republican!! WHY IS THAT?? The answer is we have been lied to all our lives! When I was in school, I was never taught about anything black people have ever done to contribute to the success of this Country. I graduated in 1977, Martin Luther King was murdered in 1968, our History books never even taught about Martin Luther King! Denzel Washington played in a movie called “Glory”, and it talked about how black Americans fought in the Civil War for the union. I never knew that thousands of blacks fought for the Confederacy. Up until the late 50's the majority of blacks in this Country were Republicans. Black people are mainly conservative—90% of black people believe in God, they are not for homosexual marriage, against abortion, they are for gun rights, but they vote progressive 90% of the time! They have been lied to. How many Democrats in America know that Dwight Eisenhower tried to pass the Civil Rights bill, but the Democrats voted it down? And Lyndon B. Johnson was the leader of the pack! How many Democrats know that in 1922, L. C. Dyer, a Republican tried to pass an anti-lynching bill, but the Democrats voted it down. But in 2005, They apologized for not passing the bill.( are you kidding me??) The Democrats were against Brown vs. the board of education, and we could go on and on and on! So we aren't taught History. In February we have Black History Month where we learn about great Americans like Michael Jackson, Michael Jordon, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby, Al Sharpton, and Jesse Jackson. And no offense to any of these people, but what have they ever done to really help anyone?? Sam Cunningham did more for black people than any of these people did. Who is Sam Cunningham? He was a black running back for the University of Southern California. In 1970 the powerful Trojans of USC played the powerhouse of the South, Alabama Crimson Tide for the National Championship. USC had black players on the team, the Alabama team was all white. USC rushed for 485 yards and won the game 42-21. Legendary Coach, Bear Bryant went to the Alabama administration, and said “This is over, a boy is a boy and they should be allowed to play wherever they want to play”, and the Alumni agreed . Alabama started recruiting black players and other SEC teams followed suit.

The truth of the matter is that we are all being lied to. I vote for the person who's views I agree with the most, and usually thats not the Democrats or the Republicans. Insanity is to continually do the same thing, and expect a different result. Until we start voting for somebody else, our Country is going to continue the downward slope. Thank you.

20 Benefits of Working at Home!

Have you always dreamed of working from home, and on your computer?
Imagine this:

Waking up each morning, and instead of getting into your car to drive to work, you just fix yourself a cup of coffee, and walk straight to your computer! There are so many benefits to working from home, such as:

1.Not having to spend a fortune on gas. With gas prices rising every day, wouldn’t it be nice to be able to not have to put as much in your tank? Not only that, you save on Insurance, wear and tear on tires, but mainly you save on the wear and tear on your nerves!

2.Spending more time with your family. Drive your kids to school if you want, attend school functions, never miss another soccer game. Be there for your family 24/7

3.Working when and how much you want. Don’t feel like working today, then don’t….no need to “call in”, because there is no one to call!

4.No boss to deal with, because you are your own boss! Most mornings, I stay in my pajamas while I work a few hours….what job allows you to do that?? I love working from the comfort of my home…I can work until 5, or quit at noon, its up to me.

5.No time clock to punch, no one to answer to. Sleep in if you want.

6.I can eat lunch when I want, take a break for as long as I want. No more rushing to get back to work to punch back in after lunch…..relax and take a leisurely lunch break.

7.Take a vacation without having to check to see if I can get the time off . I am getting paid while I sleep, & while I am on vacation!! With the economy the way it is, its always good to have a back up…jobs are very hard to find, and the chances of losing your job because of downsizing is happening more and more.

8.You get tax breaks from having a home business-you can write off office supplies, your computer, a portion of your electricity, and even your mortgage…. the list goes on and on!

9. It’s also much less stressful to work from home….no obnoxious co-workers or unfair bosses to deal with.

10.No one will care if you happen to have a “bad hair day”! Even the mailman won’t care!!

11.You don’t have to dress up to go to work. Wear shorts, and sandals if you want! Or go barefoot all day!

12.You can fix up your office the way YOU want. Listen to LOUD music if you feel like it….make it as cool or as warm as you like. Its YOUR office, do what you want.

13. No more having to leave work early or take the day off if a repair man is coming to your house..because you are already home!

14. Have a sick child? No work is missed…….you don’t have to take off work to stay home with him/her.

15. You save money on food. Since you will no longer be grabbing something to eat at work, it will save you a lot of money to just cook at home.

16. You can do away with Child care and keep your child home with you. No more expensive day care bills.

17. No one can fire you! No matter what you do, you cannot be fired or laid off!

18. You can enjoy a slower start to your mornings. Take a longer shower, enjoy a more leisurely breakfast.

19. Never miss your favorite TV or news show. Just listen or watch as you work!

20. Catch up with old friends over the phone. I can type and talk at the same time!
